Forum is also Alumni Association of GII. Forum of Indian Gemmologist for Scientific Studies is established by the qualified Gemmologist from India . Membership is opened to all the qualified Gemmologist from GII (Bombay), IDI (Surat), GTL (Jaipur), GIA (U.S.A.), GA of GB (U.K.), German Gemmological Association (Germany). Publisher of Scientific Journal organizes workshops, seminars, lectures etc. In order to bring all the gemmologists in the country together, it has been decided to organize National seminars every year in different parts of the country. The 1st IGS seminar was held at Hyderabad in 1999, 2nd IGS was held at Shimla in 2000, 3rd IGS was held at Ooty in 2001, 4th IGS was held at Udaipur in the year 2002, 5th IGS was held at Orissa in the year 2003, 6th IGS was held at Khajuraho in the year 2004, 7th IGS was held at Darjeeling in the year 2005, 8th was held at Mysore and now we have the 9th IGS being held from 12th November to 16th November, 2007 at Nainital. This annual event will be an occasion where all the gemmologists from different parts of the country will meet, present papers, discuss and share the developments in their field with others. Forum had also organized the 27th International Gemmological Conference (IGC-99) in India in the year 1999. Forum awarded a fellowship to the qualified and eligible members. The fellowship is known as "FFIG" (Fellow of the Forum of Indian Gemmoligsts).For details contact : |
